It was like Compton with slag heaps. Wrathchild had played the week before us and Rocky had said something about welsh girls being easy. First he copped for a forehead full of stitches from Holsten bottle and then the band came out to find their van on its roof. Happy days though. Once you got over the intial intrepidation of the place it was a good gig. We did it half a dozen times over 4 years.
I remember the gig you mean mate. Dont think we ever played there without getting into a fight, being knocked down the stairs, having a beer put over me head by someone, or getting a slap off the mad old broad who ran it. She didnt like bad language from the stage. It was alos the only place left in the solar system that served cans of Hemling lager.
